Unicon Workforce
Operational Workforce

Our
People.

Unicon's greatest asset is its highly trained workforce. We scale our multidisciplinary teams dynamically to guarantee expert oversight, absolute safety, and engineering precision on every active site.

Site Personnel Structure

Directly
Employed
Experts.

Brokered labor and rapid subcontracting models compromise structural safety. At Unicon, our core site teams—from heavy machinery operators to concrete formwork artisans—are directly employed and continuously trained on-site.

This direct relationship builds a culture of ownership and pride. Sourcing labor locally for regional projects also ensures that we actively upskill the communities surrounding our structural sites, creating real, measurable local economic impact.

Experienced Site Agents

Our site agents bring decades of on-the-ground experience in South African civil engineering. They manage materials procurement, daily safety logs, and local community liaisons directly from our site offices.

Specialized Formwork Artisans

Concrete pouring is an art. Our directly employed shuttering and steel-fixing artisans are highly skilled in SANS 10400 standards, ensuring structural concrete has maximum density and flawless finishes.

Owned-Plant Operators

By directly employing our excavator and roller operators, we maintain total control over bulk earthmoving. This reduces maintenance delays and ensures exact topographical grading.

Safety & OHS Officers

Dedicated safety officers monitor daily toolbox talks and enforce zero-harm OHS Act regulations, ensuring every site member returns home safely at the end of their shift.

Unicon Workers Tying Rebar
Zero Harm Principle

Every Worker.
Every Day.
Zero Harm.

Safety is not a box checking exercise at Unicon. It is the absolute prerequisite for any physical work. On high-elevation concrete pours and heavy earthmoving terracing sites, risk is managed meticulously.

Our safety officers administer site-specific safety files, conduct daily pre-shift toolbox talks, and strictly enforce the Occupational Health and Safety Act (OHSA) parameters, maintaining our unblemished zero lost-time injury (LTI) record.
