Upgrades and additions to the Nestlé coffee factory: a new evaporator building, extension of the tin can manufacturing room, switch control rooms, cooling tower tanks and large stormwater retention works, delivered by Unicon under GCC 2004.
Project Overview
Upgrading an existing food factory is a different discipline from building on an empty site. New structures have to tie into old ones, services have to be rerouted, and every demolition has to be planned around what stays.
Unicon was appointed on a full contract under GCC 2004 for upgrades and additions to the Nestlé coffee factory. The 24-month programme, from March 2008, combined demolition, new buildings, process-supporting structures and a substantial civil package for stormwater and retention.
